Check the internet for kennels in your area. I live in Minnesota, so once I typed in "Kennels Minnesota" in Google and got a ton of listings and maps. Check places out, many of them will allow you to set up an appointment to come take a tour. (If they wont let you tour it’s questionable. But do call ahead and let them know you are coming.) Check multiple places, look at them, compare prices, and pick the best one for you. Some kennels keep all dogs separate, some allow social play. Right now I work at 2 kennels. One keeps all dogs in their ‘suites’ and does not allow for interaction with other dogs, and you pay for extra play time. The other one I am at has all dogs in one big open area where they can all play together.

Also, don’t forget to do the math! We had a lady at the first kennel I mentioned leave her dog with us for a week, with extra play times every day (So that is 25$ a day x 5$ a day for play times = 30$ a day. 30×7= 210$.) When we told her her total she FLIPPED OUT. She didn’t bother adding together her totals before booking with us. And she HAD to pay the bill cause we provided the service. She was EXTREMELY mad, but it was 100% HER fault. So don’t be like her.) Good luck.

It’s a better Idea to look up on a site like Craigslist or Kijiji for professional dog sitters that don’t lock your dog up in a cage all day. Most charge about $10 – $15 a day.
