‘Dog Crates’

I’ve been reading that crating would be a good place to keep my pup while I’m at work. I’m not really sure how big it needs to be, though. He’s just a pup now (only 2 months old) but will grow up to be an average sized Doberman (the breed itself is pretty big, though). I’m looking for a crate to keep him in during the day while I work. I heard that dogs use the Crate as their den (Apparently, they are animals who are looking for "dens" to inhabit). Since this crate sounds like it will be the dog’s "clubhouse" and I will have blankets and toys in there for him, should he have room for him to run around as a puppy and just enough room to sleep as an adult dog? How big would that need to be?

I am looking to name a portable dog crate that opens and close so fast that it is almost instant. I want to call it InstaDen with the prefix Insta coming from the word Instant. Can someone help me name it if InstaDen doesn’t sound very appealing?

It’s a used metal 2 door dog crate so I dont have the directions and would like to know how do I get the tray out to clean it? Thanks.

I know my puppy will grow, but I want him to be crate trained from an early age. What crate would be best for air travel? What are the recommendations for sizes? What is a reasonable price range? Should I take my dog with me to choose the crate? Thanks for any advice you can give!
Macho is a vira-lata (mutt from Brazil). I rescued him at 6 weeks, and he’s doing great. He’ll probably be medium-sized. He looks a lot like a lab to me.

Hi, i was just wondering what a dog crate is actually used for. I have read loads of things that say it is for different things. Is it a bed? or where they are supposed to go to the toilet? or something else? Can someone please explain what is is for and why you need one for your dog?

I have someone picking up a dog crate I bought from my friend a while back, problem is I don’t know how to fold it up so they can get it in their car… PLEASE HELP!

I have two Jack russell terriers and unfortunately there left alone on weekdays for about 5-6 hours. I walk them as much as possible but I have some serious trouble leaving them at home. I leave them in the living room and the preparation involved is crazy, I put a gate up, move furniture, take cushions off couches as they occasionally wee, so now i’m considering getting a crate or pen. Should I leave one in crate and one out? Buy two pens? Leave them In same pen? I also feel I should get one as big as poss so they’re not too confined or would it be better to leave them in one recommended for their size ( cosy ) ? I cant leave them in any other rooms and the living room setting up is so tiring. Any advice would be great, thanks

I learned from the dictionary that a crate is a wicker basket, then what is a dog crate? Isn’t it the same as a dog house?

I am having trouble finding a 30-40 dollar wire mesh dog crate for my new puppy. I mean the dog will only be 7 pounds when full grown so it doesn’t need to be giant. I have tried Petco but they only have the one I want online and the shipping is alot. Any suggestions?

I’ve been looking for a dog crate for my beagle/ basset hound but everywhere is so expensive! I bought a mesh one from walmart but she ripped that right up. Even Walmart for a cheap one is min 50 dollars for crappy quality! I keep looking on ebay but they are all too expensive too. If anyone knows of any place to buy a good quality dog crate for less money please let me know. Thanks!
